Avid followers of Blaina RFC may have been a little shocked this season when they read the team selection sheet to see a certain club legend Offers in the second row slot. Many may have wrongly assumed that Blaina legend Andrew Offers had dusted off his boots for one last runout in the red jersey he once wore so proudly. But the veteran will not add to his 226 appearances for the Lambs. This is not a remarkable come back, more the dawning of a new day for the Offers family. The name on the team sheet is in fact Andrew's son Ryan who follows in his fathers footsteps in more ways than one. The 22 year old second row who stands in at 6ft 2ins weighing 17st is a truly terrifying sight for opposing teams when running freely with the ball in hand. The mobile forward who's style of play almost mirrors his fathers has played huge parts in convincing wins over Beaufort and Pontllanfraith RFC also gaining a man of the match award in his debut. The strong runner will look to build on his impessive start to the season when new look Blaina host Brynithel this week.
