Daniel Gethings is no stranger to physical sport and after a successful kick boxing carer the young winger looks to earn his stripes on the rugby field. Gethings made his debut against Hafodyrynys rfc this week and in terrible conditions not designed for running rugby the wingers determination was obvious to see. Gethings was one of Blaina's many signings and has spent pre season working very hard and deserved his starting place. The former Old Tylerians player took his few opportunities in attack to make exciting breaks and defended very well when called upon. Dan stated he would like to help push the club forward and win the league; he also mentioned his move to Blaina is a fantastic opportunity to hopefully establish himself as a regular fixture in the side. He also explained that pre season has gone very well and he was excited to get going this season. His other interests include kickboxing in which he's a 2nd dan black belt. A two time British champion at 70kg and twice a runner up. Blaina will hope for more of the same off the youngster.
